We will be having an online-only meeting via Zoom again this month.
How to Identify Major Exterior Water Problems
Course outline – 2 hours
By Reuben Saltzman
Course description/abstract:
One of the biggest problems facing newer homes is bulk water intrusion at the exterior walls, which can lead to mold problems and rotting. This class will help home inspectors identify water intrusion while conducting a home inspection. Most of the inspection methods shown in this class exceed home inspection standards of practice, but are not considered to be intrusive. This class is taught by a home inspector, for home inspectors.
Learning objectives:
Upon completion of this class, students will be able to identify problematic areas on homes due to roof shapes and designs, and will know where to focus their efforts during home inspections. Students will also be able to use several advanced home inspection techniques to positively identify the presence of water intrusion through the use of moisture meters.
